We don't have a game this weekend. Last week was the last set of games for the second round of the league. Now we have one more round of ten games until the playoffs begin. This next set of games begins next weekend. We are currently in 9th place. The top 8 teams make the playoffs but the top six teams are already guaranteed the playoffs. This means that the bottom six teams are fighting for the two bottom spots. For us this means that every game will really be like a playoff game. Each win and loss could determine the outcome of whether or not we make the playoffs and right now making the playoffs will be viewed as a success to the end of the season.
I am confident that we can make the playoffs if we limit our turnovers, defend and rebound. It will take a concerted effort by everyone.
I am currently averaging 15.5 points per game for the season. I feel like I am playing well but I would like to play a little better every game (who wouldn't) and I know I can. The good news is that my average has gone up every month that I have been here so I hope to continue that for the remainder of the season. I think this is a reasonable goal since in Germany I stepped my game up in the second half of the season. I also played my best basketball my last two seasons at Hope when we were playing in the NCAA tournament.
I know that the better I play the better chance our team has of being successful.
