2 Games 2 Wins

Unfortunately my internet has been out for over a week and I have been unable to write about how our past two games went.

Two weekends ago we played Byron Munich. They gave us a bad loss in December and we were eager to play them again. This game was back and forth for the first 30 minutes. Then we went with a 3 guard lineup and went on a run. Walt Baxley hit some very big shots and I hit a couple big threes. One of the keys to the game was that we shot great from the 3 point line, 13-28 while they shot 9-29. Rob Cardenas played some fantastic defense in the second half and Whit Faye and Marcus Smallwood had big games with 15 assists and 14 rebounds respectively.
Walt Baxley finished the game with a game high 34 points and as a team we shot very well shooting 34 for 60 from the field. We also outrebounded them by 15 which was a very important thing. I also scored 16 points which was my second highest scoring game of the season.
Final Score: 89-74

This past weekend we played at Chemnitz. Chemnitz is another good team and they have a great crowd at home. It was a long trip over there and the team was very tired. However, we were excited to play and get another victory. The game was very difficult with Chemnitz seemingly grabbing every single rebound. Overall Chemnitz was the better team for nearly all of the game. However, much like the Byron Munich game we went on a run in the fourth quarter. Once again Walt Baxley had some big shots for us and Mike Zirbes showed some of his capability in the fourth quarter scoring some key baskets and grabbing some important rebounds. I also had 6 of my 8 points in the fourth quarter. All in all we put a huge run on them in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter. Final Score: 94-82
