Braves 94 Langen 77

Coming into the New Year we played the last place team in the league Langen. We knew coming in that no game is a given. We tried to focus on what we needed to do to be successful instead of worrying about what the other team might do.

In the first quarter it seemed like we had anotehr slow start as they got easy fast break points and we seemed lethargic. However we had a better second quarter and went in to halftime up by two points. The third quarter we extended our lead but got a huge emotional lift when Theo Tarver hit a fadeaway three pointer at the bizzer to go into the fourth quarter up by eight points. Langen played even with us for the first few minutes of the fourth and cut the lead to six but over the final seven minutes we outscored them by 10 points. In the fourth we finally got some fast break points which we have desperately needed all season long.

We also had a new inside player, Maik Zirbes. He was making his debut for the Braves while also playing for first league team Trier. His size is very impressive and it has allowed us to play with many different combinations on the court. We have a much deeper team now and as the team and Maik continue to improve I think we shol dhave a very successful end to the season.

Happy New Year!
