Another Big Win!

This past weekend we traveled to Jena for one of our longest road trips of the season.
It took at least 5 hours to get there if we hadn't stopped. In my opinion having good games in these situations are more mental than physical. I say this because physically players are tired from the bus ride and the muscles are tight and sore from sitting so long. I could barely even dunk in warm ups.

This is why I was I was so impressed with the way our team played. We could have started out slow and taken a while to get into the game but we didn't. Our starters came out with great execution and set an example for the entire game. Our defense was superb as usual, it has been since we got back from Christmas. Our strong finish to the first quarter was just a sign of things to come. 27-12 1st quarter. 49-30 2nd quarter. 81-52 third quarter. 99-67 fourth quarter.
The game was impressive because we outscored our opponents in every single quarter and that rarely happens in any game. We forced them into shooting 39% from the field as well as out rebounding them. Offensively we shot the ball well and everyone that played contributed whether it be 5 minutes or 35 minutes.

Whit Faye had 19 points followed by me with 15 points and Walt Baxley with 14. We also had 3 more players in double figures with Mirko Damjanovic contributing 13, Tim 12 and Marcus 10. I believe it is the first time all season that we have had 6 players score in double figures.

Our next game is at home on Sunday against Karlruhle. They beat us by a few points early in the season and now we are in a tie for third place. It will be one of the top games on the season and we are looking forward to it.
