Well our second to last game didn't go as well as we had hoped. We knew we were going to have our hands full playing at less than our full strength while playing against Handlova who was probably playing their best basketball of the season this month. We were outscored in the first quarter and second quarter by three points at a time. I thought this was positive because it was the first time that we were still close at halftime since we had our regular team.
Unfortunately in the third quarter we were outscored by 10 points and in the fourth quarter we managed to cut the lead to 6 or 8 but that was as close as we got it. We have been giving up way to many points these past few weeks. I think a lot of it has to do with rebounding and poor defensive rotation.
However, the worst thing is that we turn the ball over too much and they just go down and dunk it or lay it in.
We really don't have the firepower to get into a scoring race and we really need to take care of the ball better in order to have a chance to win our last game of the season. It has been a good opportunity for the young players on our team to get some experience but it has been very frustrating for me as a player to not be winning games.
It was a normal game for me statistically (17 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds) but I felt like I played with a lot of heart and energy, especially when I felt like the defense was really keying on keeping me from doing anything easily.
We have one more chance to get a win tomorrow and I hope it is the one. It is our last game of the season and I look forward to going out there and playing and just showing how thankful I am for being given the opportunity to finish my season in Inter Bratislava.
Here's to a victory tomorrow!
GO INTER!
