Weiden 99 Dresden 96

This game was big. Not only for us to remain in the top half of our league but to beat the team that we had lost to by one single point. It was also to beat a team that my friend Eric Voisin plays on. If we were to play each other twice and my team was to lose to his team both games he would have held it over my head for the rest of my life.

So the game begins and one of the worst possible thing happens to me besides getting injured. FOUL TROUBLE. I picked up three fouls in the first 4 minutes of the game. Two of which we phantom fouls that we very unbelievable and terrible calls. My compatriot Jason Boucher played on the team once again which did gives us a boost. So I had to sit out the last 5 or 6 minutes of the second quarter and the coach took a gamble and let me play the last five minutes of the second quarter which was dangerous but very good. I came in and we suddenly built a big lead that was highlighted by two fast break dunks. One of which was an And-One dunk on the opposing teams point guard. Needless to say the poor guy didn't play the rest of the game. The team was feeling confident and we had a 13 point lead heading into the second half. We new that with a good few minutes we could open this game up to a twenty point lead and have a great blow out win.

The third quarter starts and we begin to continue our lead. Getting it up to as many as 17 points. Then the inevitable happened. My fourth foul. I had to sit out another 6 minutes of the third quarter. I hate to say it but this took away all the momentum from out team. After looking like the game was going to be a blow out in the third they tied the game in about 6 minutes. 78-78 heading into the fourth.

With the game so close the coach didn't have a choice but to put me into the game to start the fourth quarter. Dresden actually grabbed a small leading the fourth quarter but this was a game I knew we couldn't lose and I continued to play hard as well as my teammates. Jason Boucher was able to keep the team in the game when I was out. Although both of us had to stop playing aggressive defense because I had 4 fouls and he had 3. With about 3 minutes left the still had a 2 point lead but we were able to get a few buckets and get the lead. They fouled with a few seconds left and Jason hit one of two to give us a three point lead and them the last possession.

Somehow Eric Voisin takes the three pointer to tie the game and send it into overtime. The all looks online all the way but rims out and we won by 3 points. It was a good end because they had beaten us by one point the game before. I usually don't get into foul trouble but the last time we played Dresden I also had 4 fouls and couldn't play much.

Before the game I was going to try to score at least 40+ points and I was well on my way to 50 in this one if i had played more than 23 minutes. Somehow I still finished with 35 points, I don't know how which just means I must have really been feeling it. Jason Boucher finished with 26 and Eric Voisin had 15. They were led by Tota Konrad their leading scorer with 36 points.

Great Win for the CooCoon's!
