Coming off our first loss in a couple months it was going to be interesting to see how the team responded. I felt like many of us were still upset about the loss to Landshut last week and it carried over to us feeling sorry for ourselves in the beginning of the game against Zwickau.
Our defense was bad in the first quarter but luckily their defense was bad as well. After one quarter we found ourselves with a 30-28 lead.
In the second quarter the defense of both teams picked up and the opponents came out with the lead at halftime by three points. During the halftime we talked about how we needed to stop feeling sorrz for ourselves and start playing basketball because the game last week was over with.
I carried that attitude and had a very strong second half scoring 26 of my 41 points in the second half. We were still down three at the end of the third but once the fourth quarter began it seemed like we flipped a switch and gained the lead early. They were forced to foul us at the end and we were able to hit our free throws to ice the game. A much needed win for us and hopefully now we can start our own new winning streak.
The next game we play Dresden. The team that has my former college teammate on it, Eric Voisin. They beat us by one point in the beginning of the season but have struggled in the second half of the new year. It should be a fun game.
This was my fourth 40+ point game of the season. However, I just want to win this game to Eric doesnät have bragging rights on me.
